The Gloucester Song grew out of a single idea: To inspire and create music that would stand the test of time... to celebrate a small town community and to give thanks for the natural beauty and awe inspiring surrounds we call home. Acknowledgement: Mike McClellan, Rod McCormack and Brian Beesley. Firstly, to Mike McClellan for writing the song that completely captures the spirit of our home and for your patience and unflinching vision in making your words and music come to life. The passion you have for your music is infectious and you are quite simply a national treasure. Thank you for everything mate. To Rod, thank you for allowing four hillbillies to enter a realm of musicianship that we could only dream of. More than a great musician you’re a great bloke. What a team Mike and you make! Finally, Brian, who had a dream to create a song that would inspire and ignite a fire in the bellies of everyone who lives, lived, visited or simply passed through the township of Gloucester. You made this happen and we are the beneficiaries. Thanks to you and Heather for sharing your home, your ideas and your wine. This is what happens when drive and opportunity collide. We acknowledge the Worimi and Biripi people past and present as traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work.
