The term “facelift” refers to a surgical procedure done to improve definition and angularity of the face, and to essentially bring everything upwards. A “liquid facelift” is a non-surgical procedure, usually offered by dermatologists, and involves the combination of a neurotoxin such as Botox or Dysport, and fillers such as Radiesse, Juvederm or Restylane. This combination is injected into the soft tissue of the face, usually in the dermis or subcutaneous layer, to address volume loss. The downside to this procedure is that it tends to make people look doughy or pillowy, since the volume is being added into the soft tissue so it’s not well supported. The Y Lift™, on the other hand, is a non-surgical procedure that makes use of a structural volumizing technique. A long-lasting filler, such as Juvederm or Voluma, is injected much deeper into the face - under the muscles and near the bone structure, in a very specific way. This significantly improves the angularity and definition of the cheekbones, the vertical aspect of the jaw, the jawline, and the chin. The Y Lift™ procedure can also be performed selectively. This means that an individual does not necessarily need to have the full procedure done, but rather, can have it done on specific areas of their face that needs volume. This procedure has seen impressive and transformative results in women from their mid-30s to 60s.
