In this video, we will be walking you through the very simple steps of installing and running the WatchYourLAN software using a Docker container. Tutorial: https://pimylifeup.com/docker-watchyo... TZ Identifiers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of... WatchYourLAN is a great software for keeping an eye on your network, thanks to it being super lightweight. It can easily be left running on a lower-powered device like a Raspberry Pi while still giving you ample room to run other software. This software works by monitoring a given network interface. It then lists any devices that it finds in a very easy-to-use web interface. With this, you can see the available devices, their hostnames, and other identifiers. You can make these devices “known” so you can easily tell what devices are new to your network. While it isn’t the most configurable software, it is a great way to monitor your network if you don’t want a heavier piece of software like PiAlert. We are using Docker to run WatchYourLAN, which makes getting this monitoring software up and running incredibly simple. If you already have Docker installed, it is just a couple of short steps to monitor your whole LAN.
