You’ve probably never heard of Raine Island. This might be your only chance to see it. It’s tiny – right at the top of the Great Barrier Reef – but an absolute treasure. A place so wild, so precious it’s been declared off limits for all but a few dedicated scientists. Just recently I was lucky enough to join one of their expeditions - and what an amazing adventure that turned out to be. First there were the turtles, thousands of them. Right in the middle of their breeding season. Then there were the sharks, huge Tigers – wait to you see what we had to do with them. Exhilarating stuff – all in the name of science (2007).
