Season Game, 12/14 Vs. Milwaukee Brewers @ Steele Stadium (Away). Well, that was mostly horrible, wasn't it? Yeah, this game was not very good on my nerves... Mostly because I finally ended up snapping at Annie and Stephanie over how they constantly fight over who covers second. I finally made the choice to move them around a bit - for the rest of the season, Stephanie will be playing third base and Vicki will be our shortstop - since she's proven time and time again that she's a much more reliable fielder than Stephanie. Plus, look on the bright side, Stephanie will now have the same career path as her beloved Ripken - she's gone from being a shortstop to a third baseman! Also, a little warning, there is a slight jumpscare at 40:31 because I slipped out a cussword when I was ranting at Stephanie. So... Look out. --------------- Scouting Report: Right Field: Jeromy Burnitz, 7/6/4/7. One of those very "okay at everything but great at nothing" pros. His two main feats is that he can hit for good power and throw the ball decently fast. He's also got possibly the biggest noggin across the Backyard Baseball League. First Base: Pete Wheeler, 8/10/2/7. Yep, you guessed it, this is the kid Henri and Julie take most of their stats from - this lanky ginger guy who looks like the son of Peyton Manning and Raggedy Ann. And just like Henri and Julie, he's a great player in just about everything: He hits for great power, gets good contact on a lot of swings, runs INCREDIBLY fast and can make the kinds of plays that would make any baseball franchise put a pin on him for when he becomes old enough to go pro... Only slight gap in his game is that he can't pitch. But when you're playing him in the field, who cares? Catcher: Zenon Estrada, 10/6/5/8. A monster at the plate with perfect 100/100 power AND near-perfect contact on top of that, along with a great glove and above-average throwing arm. Another nightmare kid to go up against, no matter the position. Center Field: Fabienne Callahan, 9/1/5/6. Hits for power with great force... And you better hope she does, because she is NOT making it to first base with her speed. Her fielding skills are whatever and she's not much of a pitcher, but her running speed is the most major gap in her game. Left Field: Timmy Unger, 10/7/4/6. That 10/10 bat might look scary, but that's down to his perfect contact, not his power. That's not to say his power is bad - it's just very average. He does, however, have good speed on the basepaths AND a quite accurate throwing arm, so watch out. Pitcher: Samuel Middleton, 10/5/7/8. Yep, you guessed it, another good slugger. Not as potent as Zenon, but a force not to be trifled with with nonetheless. He's also got a great glove, so he can catch a lot of fly balls. Shortstop: Nicky Winston, 8/3/2/9. A decent slugger with a great throwing arm, but simply not as strong as his teammates - plus he's a slow runner, so he's not that scary to face if he inevitably hits a grounder or weak line drive. Third Base: Mamie Skiumbsby, 8/4/6/8. Seven-time recipient of the "Weirdest Name" Award from the Backyard Baseball League commissioner, she's another proto-home runner. She's got great contact and even some decent power, but she's just too slow and weak to be much of a threat. She does have a decent glove, though, so she might be a decent prospect. Second Base: Randi Uno, 7/6/4/4. Crouching Power, Hidden Cannon, is what I like to call her - which perfectly sums her up pretty much. From her stat sheet, you wouldn't expect her to be that good - but she's got a sneaky good power bat AND an above-average throwing arm. What's not to love? --------------- Hot/Cold Day Report: -Annie Frazier: -3 Running. -Randi Uno: -2 Fielding. --------------- Current Rankings: Record: 11 Wins, 0 Losses. Last Game's MVP: Maria Luna. Reasoning: A grand slam! Sure, she used an Aluminum Power bat, but you know what that means? It means that after this game and the one we just played, every kid on the team has officially hit at least one home run! I should probably edit together a compilation of every single one after the season is done. Honorable Mentions: Pablo Sanchez. --------------- Credits: NobodyLivesHer7 on Twitter, Maria.
