Metamorphosis Medicine YouTube Video Challenge Day #17 of 33: Life, Business Essentials, Self-Care

February 15, 2024. The London School of Economics? In this video, I share some current events including starting a 10-week Business Essentials Course offered by the London School of Economics (LSE) and the ebb and flow of life at home as one of my dogs had a recurrence of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis yesterday--something that is part of the flow of my life but also interrupted the flow of my video challenge. In many respects, my decision to take the LSE course is orthogonal to the general direction of the process I've been sharing in this video series. So what's up with this? I'm so opposed to corporate healthcare . . . am I crossing over? No, not really. It's a response to reconsidering the chaos of my childhood and how deeper structures or templates for self-care were never really established. This lack influenced my work as a doctor and other dimensions of my life in both positive and negative ways. Taking this course is a way of addressing some of what was missing and becoming more fluent in providing for myself and building confidence. Following the interlude about some current activities, I touch back into the journey and my inquiry into the built space and relational aspects of medicine and how what emerged next was an idea that rebuilding the hospital "from the inside out" might be more feasible. Although I don't specifically request action from viewers in this video, as always, I invite you to join me on this ongoing journey of self-discovery and professional growth
