South Africa has lost a great man. On behalf of everyone at African Bank, we extend our deepest sympathies to his family, and to the many whose lives were touched by this phenomenal man. Dr Motsuenyane was the founding chairman of African Bank, a founding member of the National Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC), and South Africa’s first ambassador to the Gulf States. He was a pioneer in the field of black economic liberation and the doyen of black business. His was a life lived in service of others. He leaves behind a legacy that is rich in the principles of Ubuntu, stewardship, and entrepreneurial excellence.
