Atiq, a refugee, waited six months for a school place while her family navigated a confusing system without support. "I was ready to learn, but the doors stayed shut." Every year, thousands of girls like Atiq arrive in the UK, seeking safety or joining family members who are working here already. Often, they face an overwhelming battle to get a place in school. For them, school is not just a classroom—it’s a lifeline to stability, friendships, and realising their potential. Every girl has a right to an education, and we need your help to tackle this urgent issue. We are advocating for a fairer, more accessible school admissions process, and petitioning the government to take action because: 1. Teenage girls can wait up to a year for a school place—an isolating delay that holds back their futures. 2. 81,000 families struggle with the inaccessible admissions system each year. 3. 7,590 children missed out on school last term alone. 4.
