In the isolated tropical forests of the world, there is an unconventional breed of dedicated, solitary human beings. They are scientists, searching for the hidden origins of mankind. Dian Fossey came alone to the rainforests of Central Africa. She ignored the myths and misconceptions that have made the mountain gorilla an object of terror, and instead found the gorilla to be a peaceful vegetarian. In Tanzania, scientist Jane Goodall studies wild chimpanzees. Goodall discovered the chimpanzee to be a meat eater that not only uses, butr manufacturers tools. She also realized that chimps have basic recognizable emotions and the need to communicate their feelings. Though physically incapable of forming the sounds of human speech, chimpanzees revealing their need for affection, recognitionm, and reassurance, engage in an unmistakable natural language that any human being can understand.
