Treating symmastia with advanced preservation breast techniques. This patient originally had submuscular implants and developed symmastia (when implants drift together across the midline). To correct this, I performed a site change with implant exchange — moving the implants from under the muscle to above the muscle using a hybrid preservation breast procedure. Why hybrid? Because the muscle had already been lifted, I secured it back into its natural position while also using the preservation technique to keep the breast ligaments intact. That ligament support is key for giving her the best chance to correct the symmastia and maintain natural definition. We used Motiva implants for this case, which pair beautifully with preservation techniques to restore contour, support, and symmetry.
