📻 Using an External Radio with your Rover When your built-in internal radio isn't enough, or you’re using a high-power external radio for long-range work, you need to tell LandStar 8 how to find the signal. In this video, we show you how to configure your Rover to accept RTK corrections from an External Radio data link. 📺 In this video: Data Link Selection: Switching your Rover’s work mode from ‘Internal Radio’ to ‘External Radio’ (or ‘Controller Radio’ depending on your kit). Cable & Bluetooth Connections: How to ensure your external radio hardware is correctly interfaced with the controller or the receiver via the LEMO or RS232 ports. Baud Rate Matching: Synchronising the communication speed (Baud Rate) between the radio and the LandStar 8 software to prevent data corruption. Protocol & Frequency: Matching the settings of the external transmitter—ensuring your Rover is "listening" for the correct message format (like RTCM3 or CMR). Signal Monitoring: How to use the status bar to verify the data packets are arriving and your "Age of Correction" is staying low. 💬 Are you using a high-power 35W external radio for large-scale topographic work, or do you only break it out for the toughest terrain?
