There are plenty of beaver traps on the market, but of course there is only one best. I'll clarify this as I'm referring to the best conibear beaver trap. I do love my snares and footholds for beavers, but when it comes to conibears, I'm a huge fan of Belisles. I love their safety catches, best around, and safest, which you want when dealing with this size and strength of trap. I also love how the jaws close completely, this has resulted in multiple catches for me that with any other trap I would have lost. I've trapped beavers by the foot and tail in Belisles, no other trap would hold that well. They are more expensive, but I'm a firm believer that they will pay off in the end with more catches.
