The Misunderstood – Cryin’ Over Luv … recorded in 1965 Early on in 1963, three future members of The Misunderstood, George Phillips (guitarist), Rick Moe (drummer) and Greg Treadway (guitarist) were playing in an instrumental surf band named The Blue Notes. Less than a year later, in 1964 Rick Brown (Vocalist) and Steve Whiting (Bass) came on board and the band changed their name to The Misunderstood. It’s with this line-up that the band developed a harder edged British R&B/Rock style and by the middle of 1965 they started writing their own songs. Also in 1965 the band cut a six song acetate at the William Locy Sound Co in Riverside, California. Their material on these sessions consisted of British-styled R&B/rock numbers with an added dash of vintage U.S. garage punk… A big Thank You to Mojo-Bone Rekkids for releasing these two rare tracks and for helping to preserve this rare music for future generations to enjoy. ...
