The Battle of the Bulge or Ardennes Offensive was the largest and deadliest single battle fought by the United States in World War II and the third-deadliest campaign in US history: a staggering 19,000 men were killed in 'Hitler's last gamble'. There are many Battle of the Bulge sites in the Belgian Ardennes that you can still visit. While most people go to Bastogne, the center of the Bulge, there are plenty of reminders of this bloody battle. In this video, I take you to 3 sites on the northern part of the front where Kampfgruppe Peiper committed several massacres: The Malmédy Massacre site, the Ligneuville Massacre site and the furthest point Peiper reached, the village of La Gleize.
