JOIN BROADCAST PLAZA TODAY, DISCORD'S MEDIA DISCUSSION COMMUNITY — http://bit.ly/S31MA Open for the morning newscast from Marquee Broadcasting flagship station, and ABC affiliate, WMDT in Salisbury, Maryland and serving all of the Delmarva Pensinula. This was recorded Friday, March 31, 2023. The look debuted yesterday, Thursday, March 30, during the 5:30pm show, otherwise known as the "47 ABC Newshour". I did catch that show and will have it up in the coming days as I work through a sizable backlog here. If you're saying that this look and set is identical to what Zanesville sister station WHIZ recently received, then you're absolutely right. WMDT received the same exact hard set (but it appears it in a slightly different configuration than Zanesville as they zoomed out too far on last night's closing and an empty wall could be seen), as well as somewhat better executed version of the exact same graphics package. It is clear that this is Marquee's new group package as South Georgia's WSWG also recently received it. The same exact open is used on all of the shows, however the morning newscast uses a different cut of music compared to the night shows. Previously, the station used the same graphics and a virtual set for 8 or 9 years. No change with the music, as "This Is The Place" from Stephen Arnold Music is retained. No voiceover is used in the open, however John Beach is now the station's new voiceover and has been since late last year (I also captured the last series of previous opens with his voice and those are forthcoming as well).
