Saddle Mountain - Kootenay Fire Lookout Adventures, Pitch One

A project that's long over due! Undeterred by our failed attempt last year due to forest fire. We ventured to Nakusp once more to visit this wonderful fire lookout. The hike was a special experience. As soon as we reached the alpine meadows, we had Allow Lake and the town of Nakusp under our view. The final scramble to the "saddle" can be airy and tricky for inexperienced hikers, I recommend taking your time and look of the cairns on the route. The magical views on top made this lookout in the Kootenay a must do. One can only imagine the hard work fire observers had to endure on top of such a piece of rock.
