In an interview with UpFront, former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff - who was impeached in August for allegedly breaking budgetary laws - talks to host Mehdi Hasan about her biggest regrets and proudest achievements. "I would not have given that tax relief, particularly to corporations, because they increased their profit margins and didn't invest," says Rousseff on her biggest regret. "It is clear to me today that tax relief was not used to boost investment in the economy." And her proudest achievement? "I am very proud of implementing the largest housing programme to date in Brazil," says Rousseff. "We built four billion affordable houses without creating a real estate bubble. "This country proved it is capable of being a great country. They can't take that away from us. They can try to implement their neoliberal programme, but they will not succeed."
