Clean in front of the amp & high gain in the FX loop. One of the best reverbs out there: all analog true spring (great Accutronics tank) reverb in probably the best format you will ever find. Below you will find the most concise and objective review for this pedal of all: Pros: true spring reverb with high quality Accutronics tank (made in South Korea) VERY HIGH headroom, no distortion on the reverb even with high gain pickups! extra tank protection which can be engaged when in transit full THD construction, no SMT parts completely noiseless switching two channels with independent controls very easy to set wonderful tones throughout transparent bypass vs dry signal accepts 9V batteries for complete independence! can run on batteries for a long time (only 10mA current draw) accepts remote footswitches for both BYPASS and REVERB SELECT (channel) works brilliantly with all instruments both in front of the amp and in the FX loop Cons: basically none Neutral: buffered bypass, a matter of preference larger than some digi verbs for obvious reasons The Verdict: This is THE true spring reverb pedal to get in our opinion. The design shows attention to detail in every aspect, down to the spring tank in-transit protection and the battery operation (FREEDOM AT LAST!!). The tones are incredible, but that is subjective and purely in the ears of the listener. The incredibly high headroom that keeps the signal clean at all times even with high gain pickups and electronics is objective. As is the format: the best you will find for a true spring reverb pedal. You can even call it compact, considering that it does not require a power supply, and can work for many MANY hours on a single 9V battery, quietly and without any extra cables, bulky equipment and so on. And the two channels allow great flexibility, especially for on stage use. Last but definitely not least, it is full THD: if something were to ever go wrong, it will easily be fixed. This is not a landfill planned obsolescence device. This is a wonderful heritage creation, to cherish and keep forever. And it will be with us forever! It receives our highest recommendation! From the mighty effects masters at Carl Martin, brilliant tones and great design in every single pedal! LaGrange and Titanium series cables are just what the pandas ordered for utmost signal integrity and noise free operation, every single day! They also have THE lowest capacitance we have ever seen for a guitar cable (65pf/m and 75pf/m respectively). It's simply the easiest choice to make when shopping cables: impeccable quality for reasonable prices, made in Germany, and they have short cables (1.5m and even shorter) too, with angled or straight jacks as you need. https://www.klotz-ais.com/ / klotzcables / klotzais The RIG: (GUITAR part) Fender American Original 50's Stratocaster (with stainless steel frets) Pure Vintage '59 single coil bridge pickup (BASS part) Ibanez EHB 1505 5 string BASS (passive mode, all stock) Nordstrand™ Custom Big Split Humbucker bridge pickup Carl Martin Headroom (BOTH parts) Orange OR15 set as in the video pedal in front of the amp in the clean parts pedal in the FX loop in the high gain parts (GUITAR part) Friedman PT112 Celestion G12M-65 Creamback 16 ohms (matched impedance) (BASS part) HESU B110 Bass Standard Cabinet 1x 10" Hesu Phoenix Ceramic tweeter turned off 8 ohm (matched impedance) (BOTH parts) Shure SM57 (left) and Sennheiser E906 (right) slightly off axis, on the grill (BOTH parts) Presonus Studio 68c (BOTH parts) Audacity no post processing Music by Pair of Pandas, all rights reserved.
