Seed is life trailer

Our first feature-length documentary film, "Seed is life", is complete! We explore how corporate capture has threatened farmer seed, which remains the foundation of our agricultural biodiversity and food systems globally and in Africa, while celebrating the communities that continue to safeguard this vital heritage and fight to reclaim their rights to their seed. The history is told by four women affiliated with the ACB, including director Mariam Mayet. The primary focus is on South Africa and Zimbabwe, where a more integrated support system for farmer seed is entrenched. We also examine the current role of the state and how this can be enhanced, envisioning a future where smallholder farming systems and agroecological approaches to food production are supported, allowing them to thrive and grow.
