Teochew Guang Jiang (Teochew Vegetarian Beancurb Roll) 潮洲光锵 | CNY Snacks Recipe 新年糕点食谱|Cook with Pam ASIA TO OZ Guang Jiang is typically served by the Teochew people on the first day of the Chinese New Year. It is mainly made from root vegetables such as jicama, taro and radish. It contains no meat because many Teochew people observe a vegetarian diet on the first day of the Chinese New Year. The filling is wrapped in bean curb skin and steamed. It is then pan-fried until golden brown to produce an aromatic scent. This is one of my favourite dish! Love it so much. Teochew Guang Jiang (Teochew Vegetarian Beancurb Roll) Filling: 800g yam bean/jicama, shredded 400g white radish, shredded 400g yam/taro, shredded 300g peanut, cooked with 1 litres water and 1/2 tsp salt until soft, drain 300g rice flour 150g tapioca flour Seasoning: 2 tsp salt 2 tsp ground white pepper 1 tsp five spice powder 2-3 tbsp sugar 6 pcs beancurb skin Note: Make extra can keep it in the freezer.
