The second poll winner, from the first Golden Sun game, it's a serene theme playing in a few places, most notably Kolima Forest. Here we are usually going through A Minor and E Minor throughout the piece, with a slow woodwind melody, I recreated the delay effect of the original Flute sound by adding another, playing an 8th note later. I was tempted to make the harmony played by an Alto Flute but ended up deciding to let it go to the Clarinet and Bassoon. I also added a few twinkly percussions (Glockenspiel, Crotales and Triangle) to brighten up some moments and also added strings in the arrangement for harmony. Soon (0:18) our second half of this melody arrives, with the help of low strings (0:26) also playing the same harmony as the Clarinet and Bassoon. Eventually (0:48) we reach the our next part with the melody played by a Celesta and then a Harp, Clarinet, and both first and second violins playing pizzicato. The string instruments also happen to be solo instruments, instead of our typical string orchestra with a string quintet, of 2 violins, a viola, a cello and a contrabass, I believe this would give the piece more emotion with a smaller ensemble than the typical string orchestra. Arriving at the looping point of the track (1:18), I added arpeggios in the Harp to give it a more serene and Golden Sun feel (because what is a Golden Sun track without arpeggios, am I right?) I also decided to extend it, technically looping but adding more elements, such as higher strings creating harmonies (1:34). With our next part being played arco by the strings (2:04) this time while the second violin play a new part that stays quite similar to our original melody (2:19). Lastly I gave the piece an ending with nearly all instruments (rip the cymbals) came out to end on a final E Minor chord (2:49).
