After a week of work in Osaka and before another in Tokyo, I escaped the city rhythm and rode slowly through one of Japan’s most underrated regions: the Izu Peninsula. This is a slow POV cycling film. No rush. No talking. Just the road, the coast, the wind, and Mount Fuji in the distance. I took the train to Izu-Nagaoka, picked up a rental bike, and rode a 3-day loop around the peninsula — following the sea, passing through fishing villages, quiet harbors, and long empty stretches of road. 🌊 East coast — constant ocean views, riding south toward Shimoda 🌊 West coast — wild, quiet, and almost untouched by tourism 🗻 North coast — Mount Fuji slowly growing larger as the road curves along the water Izu is easily reachable from Tokyo, yet it still feels calm and uncrowded.
