Custom Shop Guitar Not Built in the Custom Shop? Dark Wineburst 1993 Les Paul Standard Birdseye Top
Just because it has a decal that says 'Custom Shop Edition' on the back of the headstock DOES NOT mean it was made in the #CustomShop. The bulk majority of guitars with that decal were made before the Custom Shop actually existed. What this decal means is the guitar was a custom order or part of a limited edition that was prestigious. They were made on the same line on other Les Pauls but got special treatment. This 1993 #Gibson #LesPaul was a #dealer custom order with a 3 piece #birdseye maple top and the rare Dark Wineburst finish that was only offered on Les Paul Custom Plus models in the early 90s. This is likely the only standard out there in that finish. It is not #wine red.
