Sagat is heavily refined with new link combos, combo extension options, and enders, all which improve his overall game plan as a dominant zoner character with rushdown potential. Main Changes: Step Kick Low offers different combo potential on counterhit due to how some other normals (like far MP, and universal proximity range) have been adjusted. Overhead on counterhit can combo to M or EX Tiger Uppercut with the Angry Charge power up only. A very specific, character specific, and sort of strange difference from previous versions, but it's a real change. High Step Kick now hits twice and is special cancelable on the first hit, but the juggle potential is very height and/or meter restrictive. Comboing to Angry Charge enhanced Tiger Uppercut is probably the most reliable option. Stand HP has seen the biggest change of all of his normals in that it was made special cancelable, but specifically it can only cancel to EX moves, and only at a further range. However, it can't cancel to EX Tiger Raid (A new 2 bar special move), though it can cancel to any other EX attacks. It still typically whiffs on crouching characters. This is probably the most conditionally special cancelable normal in all of Omega mode. Tiger Knee Crush has been changed to make it combo more consistently from normal attacks. EX Fireball actually doesn't cause as significantly of a juggle as in USF4 or other previous versions, so the combo potential is lessened, and requires Sagat to FADC to combo afterward depending on what route he wants to end with. But also because the pushback is lessened, it makes it more reliable to combo into an Angry Scar enhanced Tiger Uppercut, which is also something Sagat couldn't do before. Angry Charge - This enhancement to Tiger Uppercut allows Sagat to combo from many things he couldn't before. Namely, EX High shot, EX Low shot, EX Tiger Knee in the corner and High Step Kick when canceled. Midscreen and without FADC, it's most consistent to combo EX High shot to f.HK Kara M or EX Tiger Uppercut. Super - Now slightly slower, it makes previous combo routes either harder or impossible. But it does a lot more damage, so it's best used in other ways over linking into it. It also can't combo into either ultra anymore. New Stuff: Previously known as "Fake Kick", In place of this move input, what's now called "Edge Knee Strike" is now an actual attack done with HK~HK. For the sake of ease in this video, I often did HK~All Kicks to perform the move, since SF4 prioritizes heavy attacks over lighter attacks when you press either the 3K or 3P button. In application, it's really just easier to do HK~3K than press HK~HK in time. This attack will only hit high. In certain scenarios, it can be combo'd into or out of. "Target Combo" is a new move for Sagat done with close MK~HK. The HK follow up only comes out when pressed after the 2nd hit of close MK. Also this target combo can be "Fake Kick canceled" by pressing the HK a 2nd time, allowing different link potential after the MK. Tiger Claw - Done with QCB+K. All versions hit low initially and have different properties on their final hit. The Heavy version can be used in juggles from an FADC, for example. All versions can be FADC'd and used as combo extensions. The EX version called "Tiger Raid" costs 2 bars which can also be FADC'd, but it's not recommended to burn all your meter like this.
