Once your studio has expanded beyond a few synthesizers, you need to start considering MIDI routing. Smaller MIDI interfaces don't have enough ports, and many modern synths require their own MIDI connections, as they use all 16 channels themselves. In this video I talk about the problems with the MIDI configuration of my old studio, how I planned to correct them, and then introduce the iConnectivity mioXL. I talk about the various types of connections, and explain MIDI over RTP. I demonstrate how I hooked up the mioXL and configured it, then go through a tutorial demonstrating how to configure your mioXL, giving some example use cases along the way.
