This is a playthrough using Garuda in the Arcade game Street Fighter EX2. Read on below for more information... Garuda is a hidden character in the game, and this version of him is an unlockable playable character. ===== HOW TO UNLOCK GARUDA ===== There are two ways to do this, as follows: ---- 1ST METHOD ---- 1) First, ensure that Kairi and Shadow Geist are already unlocked (either by having all of the characters on the Score Ranking table having at least 500,000 points each; or using the input command). 2) Now make it so that all the entries in the Score Ranking table add up to at least 28,000,000 points. Once that's happened, Garuda and Nanase will be available on the character select screen. ---- 2ND METHOD ---- You can use an input command to unlock Garuda immediately. Here's how: 1) First, ensure that Kairi and Shadow Geist are already unlocked (either by having all of the characters on the Score Ranking table having at least 500,000 points each; or using the input command). 2) Go into the game's Test Menu screen, and go into the Color option (option 4). 3) Now using the Player 1 side, input the following: MK, HK, HP, MP, LK, HK, HP, LP, HK, LK, LP, HP, MK, LK, LP, MP If you're done it correctly, the message "Here Comes A New Challenger" will appear at the bottom. Garuda and Nanase will now be available on the character select screen. Note: On the Japanese version of the game, this input command can be done even when Kairi and Shadow Geist are unavailable, and the command unlocks all four hidden characters. ===== ABOUT SFEX2 GARUDA ===== This is the player version of him, specially designed to be controlled by a human player. In the game's data, he is a completely different and separate character to CPU Garuda, who instead is used as the end boss in single-player mode. There are some differences between him and CPU Garuda, as follows: 1) Player Garuda does not have the Teleport Strike (or Maboroshi), meaning that it gives him a major disadvantage to CPU Garuda. 2) Player Garuda does not have the pre-fight boss intro (usually seen when you reach CPU Garuda on the Final Stage). 3) Player Garuda has recovery time for when he lands from his Rising Spikes special move. This makes the move far more unsafe for him if he misses the opponent with it. ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ===== ---- Despite being a separate character in the game's data, he is programmed in a way where if Player Garuda is already selected by a player, and his opponent is CPU Garuda, it will register CPU Garuda with the alternative colour palette. This is required because a human player can choose Player Garuda and meet CPU Garuda on the Final Stage in single-player mode. ---- As CPU Garuda is always used as the end boss, it means that Player Garuda never appears as a CPU opponent. ---- The only instances where a CPU-controlled Player Garuda appears is in the game's intro and in the demo fights. ===== ABOUT SFEX2 ===== The game improves on it's prequel (SFEX+) by offering much better visuals and aesthetics, as well as introducing two new gameplay features in the form of the Excel Combo and Cancel Break. The Excel Combo works similarly to SFA3's V-ISM custom combos, and is the primary new feature of the game.
