Meet Monicah Wangui! She’s a senior at Columbia University majoring in Computer Science. I had such a phenomenal time speaking with her as we unpacked the systemic differences between Kenya and the U.S. We compared the GPA system to Kenya’s KCSE, and asked—is Kenya more meritocratic than America? We explored the chances of success in both countries, especially for someone raised in an underprivileged household, and discussed what upward mobility looks like across these different contexts.
