Vitrectomy for myopic retinoschisis | Patient with high myopia developed retinoschisis with serous fluid under macula.Vitrectomy was carried out using 25 gauge MIVS instrumentation. After core vitrectomy, intravitreal triamcinolone dye was injected to check for any vitreous adhesions over the retinal surface. After that brilliant blue dye was injected to stain the internal limiting membrane (ILM) A special longer myopic ILM forceps is used to reach the longer length of the myopic macular area. Ilm is carefully peeled . This myopic macula is noted and the ILM is removed all around under careful visualisation. Once that is achieved a air fluid exchange is carried out and then endodrainage is done by a small retinectomy above the macular area within the arcade.
