ESU Loksound 5 Dynamic Sound Control demonstration. Automatic dynamic load dependent sounds!

ESU announced that Dynamic Sound Control was functional with the July 2023 release of Lokprogrammer software. To activate the feature on existing Loksound 5 decoders, they need a firmware update via the Lokprogrammer device. At the end of the video I've included two screen captures from a social media post on the topic. I did not write these but have included them for those who have the hardware. This is the same guidance I used to set up the locomotive in the video. The locomotive is an Atlas model of an Alco HH660 marked as Erie #305, which was one of four such engines purchased and used on that railroad. Built between 1938 and 1940, it used a normally aspirated 6 cylinder engine generating (as the name implies) about 600 horsepower. The HH stands for High Hood which was a name hurriedly applied when one became necessary as new and different diesel locomotives became more common. The layout is a Grand Valley kit made by Woodland Scenics which has 4% grades and 18 inch radius curves which increase and decrease load on the locomotive as the train inclines and declines. However even a flat layout benefits from dynamic sound control for tasks like switching empty versus full cars. Heavy on entry with full cars, light with all the empties.
