In this video, I’m finally back at my single needle embroidery machine and stitching out a Valentine’s Day design from start to finish. We digitize the word “LOVE” using Embrilliance Stitch Artist, where I walk you through: Creating clean, simple satin stitches Using traveling stitches to keep your machine moving efficiently Planning stitch flow to reduce unnecessary stops and trims for machines that do not trim jump stitches. After digitizing, we move to the machine for the stitch-out — and this is where a real-world issue happens. What is Loss of Registration in Embroidery? Loss of registration occurs when different parts of an embroidery design no longer line up correctly during stitching. This can cause: Misaligned design elements Visible gaps between stitch sections Shifted or overlapping stitches In this case, while stitching on a hoodie, the garment became caught — a common issue with single needle machines. To free it, I had to cut the hoodie away, which immediately threw off the registration due to pulling and tugging of the material. I’m leaving this moment in the video on purpose (as I do with all my errors/mistakes( because no embroider is perfect, not even me! Mistakes in embroidery are not failures — they are your biggest teacher. Situations like this show you where stabilization, digitizing decisions, stitch order, or garment management need improvement. You don’t gain confidence from perfect stitch-outs. You gain it from understanding why something went wrong and how to prevent it next time. If you’re running a single needle machine, this is a reality you’ll face — and learning how to troubleshoot it is part of becoming a skilled embroiderer. 🪡Thanks for stitching with me.
