Hello everyone welcome to the automotives and in this animated video we will discuss about Working of Vehicle Headlights. Everyday we see Many types and designes of Headlights in number of vehicles in which each of vehicle have its own design and Bulb type. so today we will find out the types of headlamps and headlights. in this video we will take a look on the diffeence between headlights and Headlamp? Types of headlamps used in vehicles. Construction and working of Each of them construction of Headlights AND at last working of headlights. Headlight vs headlamps::: Usually in cars you find assembly of components mounted in Front of car bonet inside glass casing is known as Headlight. but the bulb used in headlight assembly is knwon as Headlamp. types of headlight depends on type of bulb. TYPES:::: if we talk about types of headlamps the it starts with Tungstan-Helogen Lamp. the next one is HIgh Intensity dischage Bulb third one is LED type and last one is Laser type. Tungstand helogen bulb is very popular and widely used in vehicles HId lamps are quite costly so its equipped in Some high end cars. and in some customs too. LED lamps are quite Efficient and new tech so it is still in adopation phase. laser is the latest one and still its in prototype phase.and its provided in the BMW i8 concept. CONSTRUCTION:: Helogen Tungston bulb contains a Tungston filament Sealed inside a glass bulb who contains the Helogen gas so its called Tungston helogen bulb. whenever its subjected to electric current tungston filament emmits light according to its physicle Proprty and helogen helps it to maximise the light producation while Protecting it from the High Tempreture Burn. somecars uses the two filament bulb which contains two filaments inside single Glass bulb. High Intensity Discharge Lamp is also known as Projector lamps. it contains a Quarts arc tube which is subjected to a glass bulb with help of supports. arc tube contains Mercury vapour and Helide Atoms. while the bulb is filled with mixture of gases like argon and sodium. with inside coating of Fluroscent Material. arc tube is connected with the tungstan electrodes which ends in connector. When Lamp is subjected to electric current, current flows to the arc tube via Electrodes which Excites the helide atoms inside Arc tube due to Presence of mercury vapour. it emits ultraviolate rays and coating of Fluroscent Material converts it to Visible bright light by reducing its Frequency. LED headlamps are made of many small LEDS fabricatedin speicifc Order to archieve Maximum light. Light emiitting diode is made of Diffused P type semiconductor and eptaxial N type semiconductor sandwich which interconnected with very thin Gold or silver film. when Electricity is provided positive atoms of N type Material travells to P type and this process emits the light due to Photon Particle exchange.this process uses very less amount of Electricity so it is very efficient way of Producing Light. Laser type Bulb uses Very different Phenomena. laser bulb includes the standerd lasor projector which works on the principle of Electromagnetic Radiation. in this method laser is projected on Lens coated with yellow phosphurus. when blue laser impact on the yellow lens it Refrect the Bright light which can be used in Night Applications beacuse it have very bright ray with conecentrated Photon flow. HEADLIGHT CONSTRUCTION::: Main part of the Headlight is Headlamp which emits the light, the main function of headlight assembly is to reflect the light produced by Bulb in right direction to maximise its effectiveness. Headlight assembly Consist of Headlamp and Reflector. to adjust the upper and lower beam sometime two bulb or two filament bulb is used. as you can see both bulb are placed Offset to set the focuss on the Road as required. If Upper bulb is Active it reflects the light in the Downward direction which provides Lower beam.
