Red Door Chamber Music is delighted to welcome the Boston String Academy, a vibrant youth orchestra of 30 talented students inspired by Venezuela’s renowned El Sistema program, for a special three-day residency in Provincetown. During their visit, the musicians will engage with Provincetown School students through interactive classroom workshops, sharing their instruments, their music, and the joy of ensemble playing, and will present a dedicated school concert. The residency will also include two public performances open to the community: a full concert at the Provincetown United Methodist Church on Friday, March 7 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a performance during Sunday worship at St. Mary’s of the Harbor on March 8 at 10:00 a.m. These events offer a unique opportunity to experience the energy and artistry of these young musicians while celebrating the power of music to connect and inspire. The program will include: Concerto Grosso Op. 3 No. 11 RV 565 by A. Vivaldi Capriol Suite by P. Warlock Piano Concerto K414, Allegro by A Mozart Elegie by G. Faure Piano Quartet in A minor by J. Turina Musicians joining the Boston String Academy includee: Raymar Cumare, viola; Madeline Stewart, violin; Tyler Michael James, cello and Craig W. Combs, piano.
