Conversation with a surgeon about Minimally Invasive Surgery. Prof. Wojciech Zegarski from Poland has forty years of experience with being a surgeon and thirty five years of experience as a surgical consultant. The situation with COVID-19 has not reduced the number of patients undergoing surgery. In fact, during this time, they have reduced the number of serious high risk, palliative surgeries and patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer, especially those undergoing laparoscopies, were operated on in large numbers. Laparoscopies have also increased and up to 90 laparoscopic procedures were performed amongst all those who underwent surgery during this time. The laparoscopic surgery is less invasive than the open surgery procedure. Many surgeon recommended this surgery as it is less complicated and has faster recovery rate.
