Gloss Comparison Epson PRO 3800 vs R 2000 vs Quadtone Rip Software and GLOP

I decided to do a comparizon between the EPSON PRO3800 using OEM inks on EPSON Luster Paper against the EPSON R2000 using OEM inks and AUTO GLO and FULL PAGE GLO and ultimately compare that to my standard post treatment with my GLO printer Using QuadToneRip with An Epson SP1400 runing on a CISS loaded with GLO and using QuadToneRip to drive the system. Though the PRO3800 with OEM inks produces near perfeect results, there is still a visible bit of gloss differential and bronzing. Possibly it would dissapear if using another make or type of paper but it is still present in the EPSON Luster used for these tests. The main problem seems to be that the inks themselves are much glossier than the paper base luster or sheen. So the printed areas end up much glossier than the unprinted ares such as borders or pure white or blank areas. Next comes the EPSON R2000 with built in Gloss Optimizer. There are two modes of GLO usage. Auto, which only deposits GLO on areas that need it and Full Page which deposits an even layer over the entire printed page all the way to the unprintable edge of the paper. Resusts are very good BUT it still alters the original gloss charateristics of the paper. In this case making them all MUCH glossier than the paper's own original surface. Lastly is my GLO printer which WINS hands down as I can always adjust the amount or level of GLO being applied by the use of custom curves which control the amount or overall gloss look of the final print. So for high gloss papers I can increase the "DOSE" of GLO and for low sheen stains I can ajust the GLO accordingly. So there you have it.
