A 21-year-old engineering student, Jeevan Gowda, has been arrested in South Bengaluru for allegedly raping his classmate inside a college washroom. The survivor filed a complaint on 15 October, five days after the incident on 10 October. Police have registered a case under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
