Bihar Caste Survey Reveals OBCs, Extremely Backward Classes Form 63% of Population | Nitish Kumar

The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar announced the much-awaited results of the caste survey. As per the results of the caste survey, the Other Backward Class comprise 27% while the extremely backward classes comprise 36% of the population. Together, these two groupings constitute 63% of Bihar’s population. The Yadavs, the caste to which RJD founder Lalu Yadav belongs, account for 14.27 percent of the state’s population, making this group the largest caste in terms of population.
