I still can’t believe I had the opportunity to spend two days exploring the stunning Huangshan. Also known as Yellow Mountain, it is one of the most famous and iconic mountains in China, located in Anhui Province, approximately 2 hours away from Shanghai on the high speed rail. Some tips and tricks - I will release a more detailed video on this later If getting there by train, you can take a bus or taxi to Tangkouzhen Book tickets for the mountain in advance Do try the Anhui dish, stinky fragrant fish - it is a fermented fish dish, some say it has a similar scent to stinky tofu but I honestly think it’s only about 100 times better. The fermentation gives the fish a bouncy texture, as if you were eating fishballs. There are some old towns to explore near Huangshan such as Xidi and Hongcun, these are recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites and I do recommend a visit. If looking to avoid crowds on the mountain, the West Sea Canyon trail is the better choice.
