Back in 2010, right after having made my first TAS ever of Xena: the Warrior Princess for GBC, I was excited and started looking for another title to play... preferably something more provocative and absurd. That's how I stumbled upon Wayforward's Barbie games on GBA and DS, which are surprisingly good considering the license. Decent platforming action with good visuals and music. Quite easy, though, and the aesthetic is probably not relevant to anyone else than the target demographic. This TAS was an honest attempt at running the game, but... there's no point in continuing it now. The project should be restarted (should it?) because of two reasons: 1, I started making the movie when I was still new to TASing and it is simply not good enough for my current standards, starting from the fact that I don't spend time in air as much as possible (you move faster in air), wasting frames. I later remade some levels and hexed them in, but it could still be better. 2, the movie was started on an old version of VBA, an obsolete version of a currently near-obsolete emulator. Would be so much better to restart the run on another emulator. The run starts out pretty slow, but eventually you get the horizontal whirling move that allows you to increase your movement speed by a decent amount. It can even be pretty interesting planning your fastest movement in this game thanks to it. The Pegasus flying mini-games are atrociously dull, and can't be skipped. Pity the movie file ends here, at the end of World 2, because there is a neat L+R trick that can be used to speed up the Griffin boss fight. Well, maybe the world will get to see it some day. So there you have it... behold my old shame...
