Recording of the virtual launch of a new e-Learning course on the WASH humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus in the WASH Systems Academy. The event took place on 20 August and was organised by the German WASH Network and IRC WASH and funded by the Federal Foreign Office. Access to basic services is not only essential for health and well-being, but can also promote social cohesion and contribute to more peaceful societies. But what is needed to achieve WASH resilience and sustainability for all, in and outside of crisis? The new e-Learning course provides an interactive and multimedia approach to exploring how humanitarian, development, and peace actors can collaborate more effectively to build the resilience and sustainability of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services in protracted and recurrent crises. This first introductory course for WASH practitioners aims to increase the common understanding of this approach and streamline a common language across the sector. The launch was celebrated with a number of influential speakers, including • Sareen Malik, ANEW, Executive Secretary • Lemessa Mekonta, IRC WASH, Country Director Ethiopia • Mohammed Amro, UNICEF, WASH Cluster Coordinator Syria • Thilo Panzerbieter, German WASH Network, Chair
