French anti-terror officials have launched an investigation of the shooting case at Orly airport, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said at a press conference on Saturday. A radicalized man, previously known to the police for theft and drug offences, was shot dead after attacking a soldier earlier on Saturday at Orly airport, south Paris, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said. Identified as Zied Ben Belgacem, the 39-year-old French national tried to grab a Famas assault rifle from a young female solider of the air force who was patrolling the airport as part of the "Sentinelle" security operation, Molins said. The man and the soldier fell to the ground for a short struggle before two members of the patrol opened fire on him three times, killing him. The suspect is charged of attempted murder of public officer, attempted assassination, armed robbery and collaboration with terrorists. But the case has not been identified as terrorist attack. "According to the soldier's testimony, the suspect said 'put down your arms, hands on your head, I am here to die by Allah. Anyway, there are going to be dead'," said the prosecutor. The suspect was already on the watch list of intelligence services for radicalization after he was imprisoned between 2011 and 2012. French prosecutors searched his apartment on Saturday afternoon and found cocaine, machete and foreign exchanges. "Three men have been detained, namely, the attacker's father, brother and cousin. The cousin was born in June 1981 and he came to the police station on his own this morning and said that he met with the suspect the night before," said Molins. French prosecutors have not identified the criminal motive and whether the suspect had conspirators and taken drug or alcohol. The autopsy of the suspect will be finished on Sunday morning. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170319...
