This webinar is about California Assembly Bill 1775. Signed into law last year, AB -1775 allows licensed retailers to operate “cannabis cafes,” or lounges where cannabis can be openly consumed alongside non-cannabis foods and beverages. The law was enacted in January 2025, but local municipalities ultimately permit and regulate these spaces. This webinar provides Los Angeles operators with an overview of what state law does and does not allow, state compliance requirements, and the basic process of obtaining dual state and local licensing. It also provides an overview of the process that the City of Los Angeles will undertake if it allows cannabis cafes, and how to participate in rulemaking as well as the potential timeline for local licensing.
