How to Land Clients as a PR and Marketing Consultant Do you want to know exactly how to land clients? Well, that's good, because that's what we're going to talk about today on the #ActionChat. This is the show where we come together every day to talk about building massively successful businesses. And the business I'm focused on is yours. So, make sure you comment, make sure you like, and also please hit that subscribe button if you haven't done it already. How do you land clients? And I'm not going to talk specific tactics today. What we're going to talk about is the general idea, the relationship between your marketing and your sales. Because here's the truth. They're related. If you're really really good at your marketing, you don't have to be as good with your sales. On the other hand, if you're really good with your sales, you don't have to be as good with your marketing. They go hand in hand. And honestly, the ideal is that you're really good at both. And that way you're constantly bringing in clients. But, let's look at them a little bit more in depth. So, marketing, what's the point? The point of marketing is to get attention, to get people interested in learning more about you. The point of sales is to actually close the deal, right? To actually land the client. So, if you're really good at your marketing tactics, you're going to have a lot of leads. People are going to be coming to you saying, "Hey, I want to work with you." And if you're really good at sales, you're going to be able to take that attention and convert it into a paying client. Lot's of times what happens is that we tend to focus on just one or the other. Either you're probably naturally good at one or the other. And so you tend to lean that way. But, it's only part of the system. So, if something's not functioning to you, you might want to ask yourself, "Well, is it that I'm not getting enough attention," or is it that I'm not converting that attention into clients. Because that's going to give you the answer, "Is it my marketing," or "Is it my sales?" And really that's how you get clients. You market, you get them into a consultation for a sales conversation, and then you land the client.
