Hey! Here's tutorial #24 about a subject I can talk on for ages - pads & atmospheres. This one speficially focuses on the long atomspheric pads Virtual Riot makes like in his Atmospheres Sample pack and in various songs by him :)) These pads are great because once you save them you can use them to layer on top of specific chords in your songs and pitch them around to add very unique textures to your songs. In this video I split the method to creating them to 2 different ways: 1) Synthesizing your source sounds. 2) Using acoustic instruments, sampling complete melodies into small bits & using pretty much anything that is already a full sample on it's own to create your pads. Basically method 2 is way more diverse and fun, like for example in this video I took a guitar melody out of a track I'm working on, chopped it and layered it with a chord & once I added some reverb it turned into a really unique pad sound. The important thing in both methods is to make sure the pad evolves in a certain way, like using arps, not revealing all of the notes of the chord at the same time, modulating parameters on the synths as the pad plays and such :) If there's a subject/sound you want me to cover in one of my future tutorials let me know in the comments below ;) Enjoy! ----------- Download the Atmospheres made in this video & the Ambience samples used to make them: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kmdghd2d7eu...
