This presentation explores the profound significance of vows, oaths, and obligations in the context of the Torah, primarily drawing from Numbers chapter 30 . A vow is defined as a binding promise or obligation declared to Yahweh, such as a Nazarite vow, which a person is expected to keep. An oath is an obligation taken upon oneself, with the word linking to the Hebrew root for "seven," tying speech to the eternal spirit of Yahweh. The Torah stresses that a man who makes a vow or oath "shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth". However, the father of a young woman or the husband of a married woman has the power to annul her vows or agreements upon hearing them, which releases her from the obligation. If the father or husband does not annul the vow or agreement on the day he hears it, it stands. If a man annuls his wife's vow after he hears it, "he shall bear her guilt". The male head of the family is empowered and responsible to annul any wrongful vows, oaths, or obligations his wife or daughter makes while she lives in the household. A man cannot break his own vows, but he can pray and ask the Messiah Yeshua to renounce them. The presentation emphasizes that breaking vows and oaths is a heart issue that reveals an unloving, disrespectful, and dishonest attitude. It categorizes broken promises into three types: Empty Expressions (e.g., "I'll call you sometime"), Empty Promises (especially to children or through unfinished projects), and Excuses (e.g., "No time"). Finally, it encourages followers of Yeshua to live a life of honor and integrity, modeling the faithful character of their Rabbi. This includes striving for a 100/0 relationship model, where one takes full responsibility for their part and expects nothing in return, treating others with dignity and honor even when they may not deserve it, as Yeshua demonstrated. The foundational message is that Yahweh/Yeshua never breaks His promises, and believers should strive to emulate that faithfulness. #PromisesToKeep #TorahTeaching #Numbers30 #VowsAndOaths #Matot #BiblicalCovenant #Integrity #WalkInTorah #Yeshua #Talmidim #HonorYourWord #100_0Relationship #Accountability #FaithfulnessOfGod Have we been a blessing to you?
