언제 건립했는지는 모르나, 광복 후 1945년에 등기부에 올랐던, 주조장 직원숙소를 회의 공간으로 조성하는 공사를 시작했다. 본질을 바꿔 새로운 기능을 부여한다는 것이 옳은 것인지? 내가 그렇게 할 자격은 있는 것인지? 많은 고민을 해 내린 결정이다. 그러나 변화도 미래의 과거이며 역사가 된다는 점에서 상황에 맞는 변화는 필요하겠다는 결론을 내렸다. 이왕 내린 결정이니 멋지게 고쳐봐야겠다. 오늘은 그 첫 작업(10-1)으로 숙소에 가득찬 짐을 치우기로 한다. #남평주조장 #직원 #숙소 #변화 #회의실 #남평 #주조장 Although the exact year of its construction is unknown, the brewery’s staff dormitory—first entered into the land register in 1945, after Korea’s liberation—has begun a new transformation. Work is now underway to reimagine it as a meeting space. I questioned myself deeply: Is it right to alter its original essence and give it a new function? Do I have the right to make such a change? This decision was reached only after long and careful deliberation. Yet I came to realize that change itself becomes the past of the future, and ultimately, history. From that perspective, transformation suited to its time is sometimes necessary. Having made this decision, it deserves to be done well.
