Jillon Stoppels Dupree and Elaine Thornburgh met in Amsterdam in 1980, when they were studying with Gustav Leonhardt. They occasionally practiced in adjacent rooms in the musical household where Jillon lived, and enjoyed playing for each other and conversing about all they were learning from their inspiring teacher. Over the years, Gustav Leonhardt's profound influence has guided their teaching, solo playing, and performances together on two harpsichords. This Masterclass video is their gift to the Gustav Leonhardt Pedagogy Archive. They hope it will encourage listeners to continue to learn, and to weave that knowledge into their own music-making.
