NOTE: When I describe greycasting, i'm actually only doing a perfect cast but the mixups still stand. Read below for the differentiation Only recently found out about how these mixups actually work after pushing past top 500 multiple times without them and I thought to make a video demonstrating them. If you see any errors, please let me know so I can fix this as I intend on this being a short video to introduce people to the concepts Now for some vocab terms: Perfect casting using a mantra right as your swing is about to end and is signified by the grey outline on your character. It makes the mantra start up without any endlag from the m1 but comes at the cost of being cancelled if the m1 gets parried. The mantra and the m1 both register so this has great combo potential and damage output Greycasting is perfect casting but going behind their block with a 180 degree blockable move, basically allowing for a backhit. THANK YOU @Lucrono for the differentiation of the 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- m1 mantra feinting using a mantra halfway through the swing as opposed to the end of it, the difference is that the m1 is automatically feinted and the mantra starts right after, this is where much weak block abuse stems from mantra feint and m1 feints right clicking or feinting halfway through said m1 or mantra and function to either bait out a parry or roll m1 mantra cancel doing a m1 mantra feint and then cancelling the mantra which allows you to use a different one, messes their parry timing or roll timing, and generally just baits out a block or another roll When you combine all of these together and mix and match, you can change the tempo of your playstyle and the parry timings on all of your combos significantly enough where unless they play flawlessly and even then, its virtually guaranteed damage WEAKBLOCK: weakblock is trying to block after a wiffed parry. What happens is that when you try to block while in weakblock, there is a moment where its not actually up which happens to be long enough that your opponent can attack you through it, allowing you to hit them without being able to defend. the idea behind these mixups is so that you can bait out their parry and their dodges and force them to eat combos after taking a single hit What you can do is just keep up the pressure and then around when their parry resets which is something like 2 m1s of time, change the timing so that they miss the parry and they stay in weakblock for another 2 or mantras or whatever, allowing you to do insane amounts of damage. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
