Sensor (or some part of the sensor reading circuit) is damaged: see photos and video. There are lines the run vertically across the upper half of the captured image. The color of those lines appears differently with different color balances of the image settings, so it is believed to not be dead pixels on the sensor itself, especially since when the resolution is changed the lines will adjust with the image. These lines show up in the image preview on the computer, the SDI outputs, and also in the saved captured video in the end product (unless the video cropped before or after saving the video). The main way to get rid of the lines is to either crop the image and just use the lower half of the image (many high speed cameras already have a wide FOV, so this is not beyond reason). Alternatively, you can delete those pixels in the final video (select them by color) and "smooth" the pixel space where those lines used to be by making them the average of the neighboring pixels. We tested this camera and it works excellently (with the exception of the lines shown down the top half of the image): it collects images at up to 1,511,111 frames per second (at a reduced resolution of 128x8) as it is equipped with the FAST option. It operates at full resolution at a max frame rate of 7,530 frames per second. The SDI outputs both work as does the ethernet connectivity. The wide sensor also enables true 1280 x 720 HD images from a 1Mpx camera. With the v711, a maximum speed of 7530 frames-per-second can achieve at full resolution. At reduced resolutions, the camera can deliver up to 680,000 frames-per-second or up to 1,400,000 fps with the FAST option. Output The camera offers Versatile Dual HD-SDI that can provide 4:4:4 video (except at 60 fps), or two single 4:2:2 HD-SDI ports – one for playback and one always live. It is also capable of recording direct to CineMag at up to 800 megapixels/second saving time with this direct recording opportunity. Image acquisition Additional features that set the Phantom v711 apart from competitors include the Extreme Dynamic Range feature, which gives the ability to acquire two different exposures within a single frame so areas that would otherwise be over-exposed now contain image detail. Additionally, the Auto Exposure function lets the camera automatically adjust to changing lighting conditions.
