Forensic pathologist Elizabeth Laposata finished testifying at a defense witness in Karen Read's re-trial today (Tuesday, June 10, day 30), and she said John O'Keefe's eye wound wasn't caused by Read's Lexus SUV. (The prosecution has implied the eye injury is from broken glass from the cocktail glass they say O'Keefe grabbed from Read before he got out of the car.) Laposata is a clinical associate professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at Brown University’s Warren Alpert School of Medicine. She previously served as the chief medical examiner in Rhode Island.
