Lukan, Diber, Albania 2014

The village of Lukan is located in the Northeastern Albania, in the administrative district of Diber. Due to the mass emigration the village of Lukan is almost depopulated, there are still 20-30 families living there. Because of that the infrastructure of the region is pretty bad, or almost doesn't exist, thus many people don't see any hope for living there and are forced to move to industrial areas to the west. Despite that the nature there still seems to go its own way even if the main river of the region, the River of Murra, is been already rerouted, thus destroying regions of untouched nature, not to mention flora and fauna but I will be focusing another time on this topic. The region is very green, with wet climate in the winter and dry in the summer, thus we have a good mix of plants and animals yet. It is one of unique regions of Europe with healthy an virgin nature. The video and the photographs in this short documentary has been taken in the period of December 2013 - January 2014
